Are you going to be in Gettysburg, or anywhere near the vicinity of York County Pennsylvania the weekend of August 23-24? If so then you’ll want to pay a visit to YorkFest, which is York city’s arts and music festival. They have it every year.

The event is held along the Codorus River in York. It’s a great chance to visit some of the historic sites in York as the event surrounds the entire Colonial Courthouse. More than 80 fine artists from all over the country showcase their wares and artwork. You get free family entertainment and hands-on activities. Plus, there will be a great community jazz concert featuring the Runferyerlife Jazz Ensemble, made up of local college and high school students, and the Inspire! Jazz Superband.

The city of York actually closes some streets to traffic to hold this event every year. As a part of YorkFest, the city sponsors a children and youth art and literary competition, an adult literary competition, and more great entertainment.
