Now that Gettysburg Pennsylvania has had its Bike Week, York can have its week of fun. The York Bike Week extravaganza begins on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at the York Harley Davidson plant.

Bike Week usually consist of factory tours, demo rides, parades, and lots of vendors selling things that bikers will buy. Local economies generally get a big boost from Bike Week and area businesses do extremely well. Sure, there’s noise and some local residents end up leaving town for the four days, the event runs Thursday through Sunday. But I highly recommend the parade of chrome when they have it. The Gettysburg event was fabulous.

If you’re going to be in the area September 25-28 then be sure to drop into York and participate in some of Bike Week’s events. Those events include:

  • Bike Night - September 26 starting at 6 p.m. Includes a parade through Continental Square.
  • 22nd Annual Harley Davidson York Open House - Harley-Davidson Vehicle Operations Plant at 1425 Eden Road in York and coincides with Bike Night
  • Great entertainment featured each night
