I don’t know if that’s true or not. I don’t even know if there is a horseshoe capital of the world. But I read in
this news article that Pennsylvania had the highest number of entrants into the world championship of a horseshoe pitching contest. The event was held at the York Expo Center, which might have had something to do with 215 Pennsylvanians participating. The state with the second most horseshoe pitchers was New York with 109 entrants.
I think the event is going on right now with 1,300 entrants into the contest. If you have nothing else to do you can go watch the horseshoe pitchers toss their shoes and try to win. If you’re one of the horseshoe pitchers, in your free time come on over to Gettysburg and teach us how to pitch.
