High gasoline prices haven’t made Gettysburg Pennsylvania any less desirable among tourists looking for a place to get away. Hotel occupancy for Gettysburg is up 10% according to a Smith Travel Research report. That also applies to Adams County.

Among the great events hosted in Gettysburg that tend to draw large crowds include The Apple Blossom Festival and Apple Blossom Harvest, Gettysburg Bike Week, the Gettysburg Festival, the annual Gettysburg Battlefield Reenactment, and a fewer smaller celebrations throughout the year tend to draw people from more local and regional areas.

It’s a good sign that in a downturn in the economy more people are visiting Gettysburg and the surrounding area. They are likely traveling from nearby states and choosing Gettysburg because of its close proximity rather than spend a lot of money for traveling to far away places. It all boils down to location, location, location. It pays to be Gettysburg Pensylvania.
