If you are planning a trip to Gettysburg Pennsylvania this summer then you’ll want to pay attention to Gettysburg Bike Week. This four days of fun is an annual event and it has Gettysburg humming for the entire time. Some people like and others, well, let’s just say they don’t like the noise.

It is noisy. But it’s also a fabulous week and if you ride a bike then this will be the time you’ll want to come to Gettysburg. If you’re not into bikes then you probably want to stay away during Bike Week, which will take place this year from July 10-13. The hotels will be packed, the streets will be jammed with bikers, and the bars will be overflowing with tattoos and wet t-shirts. So come or go as you please. It’s an exciting week.

Activities planned for Bike Week in Gettysburg this year include:

  • Music bikers will love
  • Vendor booths
  • Poker run
  • Tattoo contest with prizes
  • A “boogie light show”
  • Bike show with prizes and trophies
  • Bike games
  • A chrome parade
  • Fireworks
  • And, yes, even church activities for those interested

That’s a lot of stuff to pack into four days. Like I said, it appeals to some and doesn’t to others. But if you are planning to visit Gettysburg during this time then you’ll want to consider the noise impact on your vacation and whether or not you like bikes, I mean Harleys, pretty two-wheelers, chrome, motorcycles, whatever you call ‘em.
