The grand opening of the historical Gettysburg Cyclorama is this coming weekend. But on October 1, visitors coming to see the Cyclorama at the new Gettysburg Visitor Center and Museum can get in to see the painting for free.

The free viewing is October 1, 3 p.m.-6 p.m. After the viewing of the Cyclorama, visitors can watch the 22-minute film “A New Birth of Freedom”

The Cyclorama had gone under a multi-year restoration prior to be being placed back up in the new visitor center and this weekend marks the first time the new Cyclorama will be viewed by the public for several years. So make your plans. If you will be in Gettysburg on October 1, be sure to stop by and see the Cyclorama.
