If you’ve heard of the ghosts of Gettysburg then you aren’t the only one. You may have heard stories of haunted restaurants and phantoms walking through alleys, voices in the night, and walls thumping and bumping to the sound of the saw mill. And those things don’t just happen in Kansas, Dorothy.

People have talked about ghosts in Gettysburg since nearly the end of the Civil War. Some people say you can see them and hear them. Some people claim they have. Some people have written books about the ghosts of Gettysburg.

I wouldn’t normally witness a ghost encounter on anybody, but in this case, I highly recommend a ghost tour. And this is the season to do it. I understand the ghosts like the warm weather!

Whether that’s true or not, a walking ghost tour in Gettysburg is a real treat. Even if you don’t see a ghost, you’ll hear some fascinating legends and great history. Walk the streets of Gettysburg tonight. Or Friday night. And bring a friend. Anyone but a ghost.
